Do not be fooled by cheap imitations or "knockoff" semen transporting systems.

The BioTranz sperm shipper container with all its contents are designed to cool semen to approximately 5°C for overnight transport all over the United States.

The BioTranz technology offers:

  • Proven technology for mailing liquid semen.

  • Reduces anxieties and pressure during semen production.

  • Easy for its use and employment.

  • Saves precious time and money.

  • Shipped semen can be used for IUI or evaluation.

  • Guarantees similar results to fresh semen.

  • Helps avoid unnecessary travel and stays in hotels.

The BioTranz, because of its unique features, allows a patient to transport unfrozen semen to a location for evaluation purposes or use in an insemination program or other Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) such as In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

By using the BioTranz one can save precious time (travel, etc) and most importantly, financially, since the BioTranz and the transportation (via overnight shipper) costs only a fraction of what it would normally cost for the patient to travel and stay at the given location.

The quality of the sperm shipped via the BioTranz is as good as fresh sperm, which guarantees excellent fertilization and pregnancy results. The BioTranz is easy to use and comes with all materials needed for the shipment, as well as, very simple instructions that one can follow.

The Andrology Institute of American performs the following tests:

STD Panel:  To identify any potential Sexually Transmitted Diseases) as well as Hepatitis A & B & C. Those are extra tests to the analysis done.

Morphology:  A measurement to determine what percentage of sperm maintain a normal shape. Count:  Determines the quantity of sperm per milliliter of semen (1 milliliter = 0.0338 fluid oz.).

Motility:  Measures the percentage of sperm that can move forward within a milliliter of sperm.

pH:  Measures the acidity and alkalinity of semen (Semen should be slightly alkaline.  More acidic semen, combined with a low amount (volume) of semen, can mean there is a possible blockage in the ejaculatory ducts or even the absence of the seminal vesicles).

Sperm Antibody tests:
Sperm antibodies can happen in some men when the immune system considers its own sperm to be foreign and develops antibodies against them.  Sperm antibodies commonly happen in men after vasectomy.

How is testing performed?

It is now possible to have your semen analyzed without having to leave your home with the new Home Semen Analysis Kit, also known as the BioTranz shipper. All you have to do is collect a semen sample and send it to us via an overnight carrier and we will email you a detailed, comprehensive report on your semen quality and provide recommendations. It's as easy as that!

For any couple that is having problems in conceiving, it is important that both partners be tested. In about 40% of infertility couples, the cause lies with the male. A routine semen analysis can answer many questions and isolate problems early in the treatment and allow physicians to offer better treatment options to the couple.
The Home Semen Analysis is performed using state-of-the-art, computer assisted semen analysis (CASA) technology, and is cross referenced by our experts who have 25 years of experience in Andrology, in order to ensure proper quality control.

Important Note about Shipping:
Think of sperm as a flashlight with brand new batteries.  When you ejaculate semen, you have basically ejaculated millions of flashlights turned ON with brand new batteries; but over time the flashlight fades away as the battery does as does the viability of the sperm.  With the BIO-TRANZ, you receive a TEST YOLK BUFFER which slows down the degradation of the sperm (or keeps the flashbulb brighter if you will).  However to make sure you have the best possible result (especially if you plan to ship your semen overseas after the test), it is important that you call FedEx to find out what is the latest they can collect the package from you and provide your ejaculate two hours prior to their arrival (or one hour if you can manage two ejaculations before FedEx gets there).  If you have a FedEx depot near you even better.  DO NOT ship on a Friday or Saturday and do not ship the day before a holiday. Also do not ejaculate and store over the weekend.  Your semen needs to be shipped as soon as after it is placed in the container

How to Safely Ship Liquid Semen: Can Unsafe Semen Shippers Cause Genetic Abnormalities to the Child?

From: The Male Infertility Experts at
ZDL, Inc. and The Andrology Institute of America

The correct shipment method for fresh sperm/semen samples is critical to the survival of the samples that are to be shipped for reproductive purposes. The shipping process is similar to that of storage of liquid semen via refrigeration that our team developed almost 30 years ago after proper dilution and the utilization of the Test yolk buffer, otherwise known as TYB along with the proper slow cooling process (whole concept developed by Professor Zavos, Director and Chief of Andrology at the Andrology Institute of America). The TYB which Professor Zavos was instrumental in refining and employing the whole concept, has various qualities that safeguard the sperm during this process among which, it insulates and buffers which prevents injury to the sperm during the dilution and cooling down to refrigeration temperatures.  It also provides nutrition to the sperm to preserve its metabolism during this stressful procedure.  When the sperm is diluted in TYB and cooled slowly to about 5 degrees Centigrade, the sperm goes into "hibernation" and its metabolism slows down by 95%.  This is the process that enables the sperm to survive and maintains its cellular integrity but most importantly keep its ability to fertilize naturally and normally without causing any damage to the sperm and its contents that are responsible for a "normal" fertilization and subsequent non-problematic pregnancy.

Having developed those concepts in the Laboratory almost 30 years ago, we set out to develop similar concepts but this time having to do with the mode of transporting the semen from location A to location B with similar success.  The BioTranz is the safest and most efficient semen shipper in the market today.  The shipper is the first one developed for human use and has been tested and studied in order to ensure the most efficient transportation success for the end user in mind.  At the Andrology Institute of America, we set as our goals to serve the Global infertility community with the utmost efficiency and putting them first before we set out to benefit from our inventions and products. Unfortunately, like in any other industry, when a concept begins to become lucrative, a great number of untested imitations begin to appear and begin to misuse the concept to gain monetarily.  We are convinced that none of the semen or sperm shippers that are available other than the BioTranz have been tested or properly evaluated to show their efficiency and appropriateness for what they are marketed for.  Unfortunately, those marketing agents are out in the public trying to gain monetarily but misleading the public with misstatements and misconceptions.
